Before the retrofit, that would have meant standing water across the center circle and both penalty areas for at least six hours. After the new gravel layer and pipe network were in place, the surface was clear within 90 minutes. No puddles, no soft spots, no delays.

What stood out most was the consistency. The drainage rate didn't vary much between the goal mouths and the sidelines, which told us the lateral pipe spacing (4 meters on center) and the slope gradient (1.2%) were well matched to our soil type. We also noticed the root zone stayed moist but not saturated, which reduced the need for hand-watering during dry spells.

The only issue we ran into was a minor sediment buildup in one of the collector pipes after a particularly heavy dust storm. A quick flush cleared it, and the team suggested adding a geotextile wrap around the pipe inlet for future installations.
